FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WEST JORDAN STONE FABRICATOR IS ONE OF ONLY SIX STONE FABRICATORS IN THE WESTERN U.S. TO EARN ACCREDITATION WITH THE MARBLE INSTITUTE OF AMERICA.

March 6, 2009, (West Jordan, UT) ---Bedrock Quartz is one of only six stone fabricators West of the Mississippi and the only fabricator in Utah to earn accreditation with the Marble Institute of America, the leading information resource and advocate for the natural dimension stone industry for 60 years.  The members include marble, granite, limestone, sandstone and other natural stone producers and quarries, fabricators, installers, distributors and contractors around the world.

Roughly 28 companies in the United States have completed the very rigorous three-phase accreditation process, which requires a comprehensive site visit by the institute inspectors, extensive documentation of good business practices, a partnership with OSHA to ensure safety and a five-hour set of standardized tests. This program gives consumers confidence that they are working with a company that is committed to quality and safety standards.

Bedrock Quartz is a family owned and operated fabricator and installer of natural stone, quartz and “green” slab products for Utah counter tops and other interior applications. It is located in a new 25,000 square foot facility in West Jordan, which utilizes a variety of high output, state-of-the-art, digital equipment to handle custom details necessary to meet almost any stone application.  All processes employ computerized digital templating, CNC controlled water-jet cutting, CNC stone routers and computer controlled edging tools for precise, timely project completion. Installations are done by highly trained and experienced specialists.

Bedrock Quartz is a wet shop. Unlike many stone fabrication plants that generate a tremendous amount of air-born dust, at Bedrock water is used at each step to mitigate the dust and then filtered and reused in a closed loop water system saving millions of gallons of water each year and providing a healthy environment for the shop workers. This is one way Bedrock is addressing environmental concerns. Another way is by crushing waste stone for use as a landscaping product rather than sending it to the landfill.

In 2008, Mountainwest Capital Network ranked Bedrock Quartz 31st of the “Utah 100” Fastest Growing Companies.
